    Spot Rebate

I purchased my Spot at the end of December and just today got the rebate check. Christmas in July? I hate rebates and will not ever buy anything based on getting a rebate. Maybe I need some cheese with my whine. :P
    The Spot works OK.

    Spot Rebate

I bought my Spot at the Alaska Trade Show in May. My rebate was denied because they didn't like the receipt I sent. It's irritating, but I've dropped it -- probably exactly what they were hoping I'd do. Like NimpoCub, I don't expect much from rebates. I love the Spot.

Makes you wonder, if they can't get something as simple as a rebate check right, will they be able to handle a real emergency? Tracking is nice (when mine works) but I still wouldn't bet my life on these clowns.

Folks, don't give up on rebates. There is something called a principle. Phony marketing gimmicks don't sit well with me - if I am "promised a rebate, I want it", period. It is not the monetary value, it's that I despise deception. Chances are I give it to a kid to buy himself a pocket knife, I-tunes or whatever.

I just talked to a SPOT guy, "a big batch of rebate checks will be mailed out in the next couple of weeks, and I should have mine in early August...".

I don't hold my breath quite yet

If you want a GREAT rescue story, check out mccallstarnews.com/pages/mainnews_page.html#quick
Passenger and pilot both used a spot to report their crash seconds after it occurred. Also great news of coop with FS.

I like the fact that they promise (oops, there's that word again) to send the cavalry after only 2 phone calls. AND the GPS location too!!
