    mag problem

During my run up yesterday I noticed no drop in rpm on the left mag. The right showed normal drop. I turned to off and rpm remained the same as on right mag only. Any suggestions for me while I try contacting my mechanic?

Sounds like P lead might be broken. If so, you have a hot mag.

Definitely sounds like a hot mag and a bad P lead be careful around that prop till you get it fixed.

    Please be careful.

These guys are spot on... We just had a guy that scraped his ear (mildly put) and has an extremely sore shoulder. luckily he was 6'5". Live mag, found a broken p-lead at the mag connector, it looked good but.... Ive seen switches that were messed up too, hence the AD 76-07-12. Treat that prop as it is HOT

Take the leads off of your spark plugs and do a simple continuity check on your p-leads. You'll find the problem.

Thanks for the feedback. The hot prop was my first concern.

Consider that prop hot "ALL" the time. In the forty years I have been working on them I have had three of them take off when they where not supposed to. One bad P lead, two switches bad. The only time I feel somewhat safe is when "ALL" the sparkplug leads are out. I consider them the same as firing pins in my guns.
