    Die spring gear

    Hi
I was told today by a smith cub builder that there has been some problems with the die spring shock strut.
have any of you guys heard of a update for the shock strut or know of anyone busting one?
I have 150 hrs. on mine and am going to take them off and have a look.
Mine came from WAG AERO but they look the same!!!
    Thanks for any input,Aurele

    die spring gear

I pulled my shock struts of and pulled them apart.
I could see NO problems and i think i would bust it at the axle attach lug before pulling it apart inside the spring.
I put in new bolts and lubed it up.
Maybe some of the hi gross weight guys could pull it apart but i still think this is a great shock system.

I've had diespring gear on my 2+2 for years and over 800 hours, no problems. I took it apart last year to have a look and everything looked fine. My advice, every 2000 hours take it apart and look at it

I am thinking this would be the weak point.

This is where i was told they ripped the bolt out of the end.
I am happy with how it looks and works.
