OK, so I finally decided to order a pair of 8.50 x 6 tires for my PA18, waited months for the inner tubes and they finally arrived. Excited to put them on, until....
I realized they may be too big to work with the Federal hydraulic skis I purchased a number of years ago. Bummer. So I planned to put the 8.50 x 6 tires on in non-ski months, then change the tires to standard in the winter to accomodate the skis.
Ran into a fellow in Park Rapids who told me he bought a PA18 with 8.50 x 6 tires and they work with Wipaire's (Federal) hydraulic skis.
Anyone have thoughts/experience with this? I would appreciate any info you might have.
