709 ride update

I finally got to meet the new FAA inspector and flew up to Lake Hood strip to do the 709 check-ride.
She was very professional and let me do my thing from a CFIs point of view.
She is a cub driver herself and thus there was no B.S.ing her.
I taught my little ground class and we did some landings and pattern work.
After a while she said to stop and I was wondering what I did wrong.
Then she told me that I passed and sent me on my way with some advise about clients and a few other things.

The wait was much worse (and expensive) than the check ride,

But I was super prepared, and my books are excellent.

All in all, she was a very nice person.

So now I gotta get back on floats and drum up some more business.

Excellent Alex.

And the way it should be. Once your competence was verified, stop the BSing and move on. Sounds like the FAA did it right this time.

I think it showed I was prepared when I whipped out a Cessna model and a Cub model from the back of my plane to describe the differences in landing and take-off techniques.
Not to mention the 30 pounds of books in a back-pack that I bought along.

Man, was I nervous...

Alex,

Good job, and congratulations. Now, get back to work, as they say  .

I'm glad to hear you had a good experience with the actual checkride, and that it came out as it should.

MTV

The 709 is over and done...
the weight's off the shoulders, it weighed almost a ton!

So the Cub is back home, the floats going on...
ready to teach newbies and make its owner much Yuan.

okay okay so the last line is stretching it... :D

The real bad part is that the lost customers, put me in the hole. Now I can put my floats on, IF.. I can get some hanger time. Plus somebody else grabbed my spot on the lake.

Not to mention that word got around and I only have two potential customers lined up now.
