What is Wrong With This Technique (5)

Subject: Mid-air collision between a T-44 and a B-1-RD.

The B-1-RD flew into the MOA without clearance and without ‘squawking’ a proper transponder code. He was not in contact with any ground controller, had not filed a flight plan, was flying east at an even altitude, and continued VFR into IMC. The B-1-RD collided with the T-44 and (According to the Navy) did $487,000,000.00 worth of damage.

Actually, I bet the Naval Aviator snuck up behind him and tried (Unsuccessfully) to bugger him with the right spinner. I read a story a few years back about a guy in the pacific that did that to a hapless albatross with a PB4Y.

Had to take the jab at the Navy. I was Air Force after all.

Happy New Year everybody! :drinking:

I beg your pardon !

"I don't know but I've been told,
Navy wings are made of gold.
I don't know but it's been said,
Air Force wings are made of lead."

Happy New Year !

:cheers
