I have pod serial # 1 made by Bill Firmin. It came without a top and has worked fine. Don't worry about a small access hole in the top. it was his first PA 12 pod.
That method was hard to put on and didn't work well with my new small pup. I got one of the padded neck braces which velcros around a human neck. I wrap it around and close the Velcro and she keeps it on. It does reduce the cockpit noise significantly.
I have three Dave Clark headsets, but am thinking about wearing a crash helmet. What options do I have in purchasing a helmet that will work/fit properly with those headsets?
I used to have the bungees on my skis; I have always made it a habit to glance out of the windows to check my wheels or skis after each take off. One cold winter day I took off from a remote swamp and glanced out as usual. The right ski tip was hanging REALLY low; I pulled back slightly on the...

I guess that I am one year short. I have been flying my 12 for 38 years at present. The last few years my daughter has also flown it a fair bit. She first rode in it as a passenger of about 1 year old. Now on a couple of occasions she has dropped me off and picked me up elsewhere after I...
I have had my 12 since '75 with ho header and I like it that way. I have the two valve shut off system. I have heard, over the years, of pilots taking off with the gas turned off, using the gas in the header tank and then crashing when the header ran out of fuel. If I start to taxi with the...
