I teach in a pile of experimental Piper thangs. Anything with a (close to airfoil) and bolts from Piper I use 95mph if one has not named a VA speed. Most of that stuff is like stuffing a cardboard tv box through the air.
Hi.
I noticed ol Dale C. posts. I sure miss that guy.
I walked outside and considered putting the skiis on the N-5. It is taking me a while to get my nerve up. It is cold out there. You can freeze your lungs huffing and puffing while changing skiis on the plane. Breath through your nose...
O.k. Loss of pants.
But first, we had a good summer using a 7ECA. I like that airplane. I have instructed a little over 20 years and most of that was in Cubs and Citabrias, Taylorcrafts and whatnot. The Citab is one of my favorites. For one, it has heat. Good heat. It doesn't freeze...
We send people on cross countries that are on the road system. The reason is in the event of a breakdown, we can fix the issue quick. I will send guys on something more extreme later on. But, the route would be Birchwood, Biglake, Gulkana, Biglake, Birchwood. A few more legs but it gets the...
We used to use them on the Dakota Plains. They worked great. The main thing they worked great for is cactus. You go through alot "West River." My Uncles still has a set for the Cub and one for the Cessna. If a tire goes flat at least you can fix it up to run on the good tire.
Hello Folks,
I have been gone for a while. It is nice to be back among the flying. I just had too much cub stuff going on to actually think about cubs, if that makes any sense. We changed the school around a little and picked up some property on the Talkeetna Airport. We will see how that...
That was one of my 172's and one of my students. Lucky indeed. The plane not so much. Cole is an awesome guy and wants to do nothing more than get a cub and get busy like the rest of us. He will get back into the air. Just be careful out there.
Where is this school? I drove out but couldn't find it. Checked the high school, the middle school, the school warehouse, your hangar. I saw something about the Noisy Goose, but didn't find anything there either. Got an address for next time?Sorry you couldn't find it. We will be having another...
Howdy. It's been a while since I have been on here. I always learn something fer sure.
Tree-effect: The act of taking a 90 thousand dollar Super Cub and placing it in close proximity of trees. Usually experienced with screaming and a shatting of the pants.
I have been doing a pile of...
I just flew the trench again a few weeks ago. There are a few strips starting about a 1/3 of the way down but they are a little hard to see. The big village about 1/2 way down has car gas and a grocery store if you need it. Just bring covers and you should be fine. Make sure you can see way...
Help. (just figured I would hijack a thread since I didn't want to start a new one). I need a 0-300 6 bolt prop for a c-172. McCulley 1c172/em or 1a175 to be a little closer. My prop, she junk... Anybody got one I can have/use/buy trade?? Please call or text me at 907-903-0757. or PM me...
Found some perfect 0-360 cyl. for measurements, (thanks). I still need a crank and block. It is for measurements for a little project so a bad, cracked crank and block is perfect maybe even a bent/bad rod, accessory case, etc. Please let me know before you throw them away. It is for...
Im looking for a cfi right now. We are short up here. Good for the guy whom wants to get a good job next summer. Send a resume if you are serious. Kmore@articsairacademy.com or pm me.

I am looking for a old un-serviceable O-360 block and a cylinder assy. I am going to use them for some measurements so I don't care if the block is cracked or the cylinder is scored. So, please call me at 903-0757 or message me before you heave them into the trash. A bad crank would be o.k...
They may have something on Kalgin (sp?) Isle but need a little smaller plane to land on the beach. Other than that, they have been cruising up and down the inlet today. Nothing so far.
I am still going with, "run for it!" Just kidding. Lots of ramp checks and never had a problem. I don't just hand them my license if I feel like I am being targeted however. Without naming names, there are a couple of them that go after current charts and the required paperwork. There is a...
Thanks Alex. The turnout has been pretty good. The father of Peter is John McNeal. He was part of the Wasilla Police Dept. for years.
I guess Peter had some sort of float coat on, contrary to the news. They are pretty sure he is floating. So, keep looking down if your flying around the inlet.
