Finished reading this book. I agree with their addition of how having a glider rating with actual soaring experience in thermals, ridge lift, and mountain wave give one an appreciation of what you will experience in mountain flying. It certainly did for me on my first trips into the Rockies!

Alice and I vacationing on Prince Edward Island and just by chance watched all on a TV in a Radio Shack store. Drove our rental car to Halifax and saw all the overseas airliners stacked up at the airport. Got our flight back home days later which flew by NYC and all passengers got a look at...
I too had a Dynon D1 go belly up about a month ago. The Dynon blue screen logo come on but freezes there. There is no further startup activity. The only way to turn it off is to do a paperclip reset. I was getting ready to trash it when this thread came up and supercub1999 post confirms that...
Yes, using a channel lock at a slight angle I could squeeze one of the two outer electrodes separately. I'm trying to extend the life of these otherwise amazing plugs. No sign of lead buildup after hundreds of hours. All internal electrode resistances were less than 1.4K.

My mechanic says he does not have the correct tool for setting the gap on a REM37BY spark plug. After internet searching, such tools if 37BY is mentioned, have a sky high price. What technique or inexpensive tool are you folks using to gap these type plugs?
Thanks,
I will not be able to make the Wings for Wishes this year. But my Alice is a cheese nut. I therefore bid $100. Is this the proper way to get in my bid?

Ralph, it's sure a pleasure to hear all the good developments yet still to come to little Winifred. I'll never forget the several trips west in my cub spending wonderful time with the Rogers and experiencing the small town bars and local folks.
Unfortunately I'll not be able to make it this...
Used that phonetic alphabet into the 50s in my early ham radio days! Also our early warning Navy Connie aircraft were designated WV-2, Willy Victors now affectionately known by vets.

Will the B&C with mounting kit fit with the front oil cooler (Niagara) on my '63 O320 SC? My engine mechanic had no luck with the Plane Power.

Here's my "63 SC tail light mounting ring. I had the tailBeacon and my A&P who is a craftsman with fabric and a torch, could of increased that opening to mount the beacon. However, we thought better after discussions with a local DER/DAR. I'm sure someone will get an approved mod for others...
I contacted uAvionix and they will contact me later with info to exchange the tailBeacon for the skyBeacon. My current wing tip strobes are synchronized but they said there is no way to have the skyBeacon synchronized with my remaining tip strobe. Intensities may be different too. Bummer!

I just received my uAvionix tailbeacon but I take from this thread, it will not fit to replace a Super Cub taillight. I'd be interested if anyone successfully fits it to a standard SC rudder.
I have Whelen Orion 650 wingtip led position and anti-collision lights I'd like to keep.
I'm in no...
