Have only used grommets, or some custom ones I make that have a solid face you just poke the proper size hole through.
Yes you have to trim the brackets. They purposely make them extra long.

Had one flying plane come in for recover, found broken upper left tube going to firewall on side hidden behind header tank. That whole side was 1” up at front gear & wing attach. Damage was from back in the polar bear hunting days. This was in mid 90’s

you don't show where you put power to it.... did you just power the motor big stud, and not use the solenoid on it(just guessing your video doesn't show full starter..)
-1F up here.... back to winter
had been warm and raining 10 days ago.... made things slick.... did a ice hardness test with back of my head... not recommended....
that sounds horrible......
no offense intended... but what happens with LONG taxi's as brakes heat up and expand/ fluid
(I.E. can let MORE fluid in when cold at start of taxi, but cannot let it out when HOT.....)
I only installed northrivers....
except for one on stewarts that came setup with a different brake system totally

I shake my head at your saying ground cable needs to be same size gauge as the SHORT GROUND STRAP/CABLE from engine to fuselage(I don’t do engine to mount, to many loose connections in engine mount lugs) basic electricity!!! Big cable Like you say doesn’t hurt, but is NOT anything but extra...
I tried that! They glow red on start on a 185... but.....
Might not of been primer, but they were copper lines...

ribs are similar to PA-12.... some braces are backwards at rear of rib... but you can mix and match without problems as far as I have done on a couple planes... you milage may...
Not sure. I actually was referring to flame master. The last part of part number is something like the working time, reeves had 2 different ones.

Just because it clicks DOES NOT MEAN ITS DELIVERING FULL POWER TO STARTER UNDER LOAD, you must do the troubleshooting steps I described above to verify. You can even do them AFTER installing new starter... so you don’t burn up another starter. Don’t just swap starters without verifying that...
thinking back to some that were repaired at atlee's, they cut off drain bung and welded small section on top then welded new bung on..... not sure that's necessary.....
One of our pilots forgot we put the 185 back on wheels from floats, he called king salmon tower “56j blah blah, for the river at king salmon... the tower guy just replied “well this is going to be interesting...” then reminded him he was on wheels

That’s a different attachment method than snider used, his has a spring steel bolt on mount from both clusters on each side, with aluminum gear
