Hi,
I am in need of some lower cowling repair on my plane due to a taxiing incident.
The plane is in the Northeast and looking for a few recommendations.
Thanks,
Tom
Hi,
Late to the discussion,
I put a Trio in my 185F when they first were certified. As I recall the 185F was the first plane with the stc and I was the second or third one flying.
Overall it works very well. I was helpinhg the mechanic for the entire week it took. It seemed to go as planned with...
It looks like it going to have to be replaced so I was just wondering what the labor is for a replacement.
Airtex is around $500 for the headliner.
As pa11 driver said "Oh yea, there’s a lot more to the story"
Hi,
I am looking to replace the headliner in my Cessna A185F.
How much should the labor, approximately, be.
The plane is in my mechanics shop in Maine undergoing some work now.
Sorry for getting back so late.
I just called Texas Skyways and was told the only stc they have is for the IO-550 not my IO-520D on your plane. It was from the receptionist as the gentleman she referred me to was not available.
I will call back later today....
mvivion,
I went to Backcountrypilot of which I was a member but had not been back for a while.
What I found difficult is finding the information on props.
Can you point me to the section in the forum where it is?
Thanks,
Tom
Hi,
I have a 73 185 that needs a new prop along with an engine teardown.
My main wish is speed, not takeoff distance. I fly mostly out of grass strips. Will have time as the teardown and inspection will take time.
What seems to be the best of the new props for speed?
Thanks,
Tom
Hi,
I have a 185F and the black gasket that extends from the rudder to the L/E of the fin and the fuselage need replacing.
Bought some from Aircraft Spruce of the correct dimension but it was very thin; not like the one on there now.
Where can I source the correct gasket material?
Thank you,
Tom
We have removed the rudder and stab and went all over the jackscrews and it works very easily on the ground as mentioned before.
It is smooth and easy from one end to the other.
Denny, I have read a lot of your posts and have a great deal of respect for your knowledge. I found moving the tool...
Thank you all for all the input, it is greatly appreciated.
One thing, I should have made the "160mph True" in all caps, I can see where that could be easily missed. The point I was trying to make is that it flys close to book TAS although I am never near GW. Generally myself and occasionally...
Gary,
Sorry if I was confusing. I ment as the speed picks up and approaches 160 mph it is very difficult to keep trimming nose down to compensate for the increasing speed. Very difficult is, the point where I feel it will break something i I try any further nose down. The cables have been...
Hi,
I have a 73 185 that has had an issue with the trim as long as I have had it over 7 years.
Unless I load the rear extended baggage compartment with my 15l-20lb tool bag nose down trim is VERY difficult above about 160mph. Even then its still difficult.
My question is how could an aircraft...
I wound up buying a "Kit" from Ebay. As I needed to try and get it fixed by the weekend he offered to send it overnight mail.
It should arrive today or tomorrow.
Thanks again for all the suggestions and help.
