Just that close to making it in the hangar

We had the same problem and made a plywood ramp that we would drive the plane over. The ramp is placed so that when the nose wheel is on top of the ramp tail is going under the door and doesn't come down the other side of the ramp until the tail is clear in the hangar. We also had a tug to push...

    Best epoxy to bond aluminum

I'm most familiar with 9303 because it is what the structural repair manuals for the Beechcraft King Air, 1900, and Cessna 208B call out for when bonding metal to metal structural joints. I do know from experience 9309 bonds very well to aluminum. I'm not sure how it reacts to unleaded fuel. I...

    Non-TSO UHF marine radio installation?

Review AC43.13-2B. I've always viewed the marine radio installation as a minor alteration has long as the data in 2B is followed.

    Oops, darn it...

It lost part of one blade. The investigation found a bullet hole through one of the blades at the break that had been filled in with bondo or something to conceal the damage. I don't remember all the details exactly but it was a bad deal.

    Oops, darn it...

I don't believe he was lost. He made more then one attempt to land at City field in the fog. Everyone in town heard him circling around trying to get in before he headed east down the coast where he finally lost it for some reason. Lots of unanswered questions at this point. City Field is not...

    Fuel tank design questions

Marty I use one sump on the tanks i built. I located them in the aft inboard corner (lowest point in of the tank when installed on the aircraft). Some thing to keep in mined while your fabing up your tanks if your not a welder is the welds shrink when they cool. This shrinkage is what cause...
