Btracy, you've got a great eye for unique images in interesting places. I'm surprised you haven't taken aerial pictures of every old school site in Yuma County, Colorado. ;)
Thanks. cubscout
Pitchers you say? I've got three or four frames left on the 126 cartridge in my Kodak Instamatic, before I take it to the pharmacy to send off and get developed. Maybe someone else has some to share? Plenty of people there.... But you can tell it was a success, because folks were actually...
Clint counted ~75 aeroplanes; extrapolating 1.3 people gets us around 100. Something like 5-10 aeroplanes came and went, plus MANY local folks for the outstanting supper feeds. Caught up with a bunch of old friends, met many new ones. Can't say enough good things about Clint and his family...
Lisa, glad to hear that Buffalo "allows" camping. It's been a good fuel stop for me. Also, when I was through Rawlins a couple years ago, there was a newly-established tent circle just outside the people gate, but didn't try it; should be better than camping in the big hangar, with chunks of...
Ralph, et.al., huge thanks for all you do. I've been planning this trip for some time, but unfortunately Girlscout's dentist shifted her schedule without checking with us. She needs a 'responsible adult driver', but is stuck with me instead. Big bummer, but I'll be expecting lots of stories...
Hotrod, Source? Part Number? Wattage? Looks like a good solution for many of us.
I've also looked at ceramic disc heaters from pet supply shops.

Looking for an update for remote start for electric preheat, it's fall 2023. There have been some other good threads, but pretty old now, and often leading down some rabbit holes. Interested in an inexpensive way to start electric preheat on cold days, <500 watts. One hangar 45 minutes away...
SJ, have you considered an acqueous solution of calcium chloride? Pretty standard for tractor tires, most farm tire dealers have the equipment to pump it in. We run it in the 'Binder ('Farmall') at our airfield, and also in its predecessor, Fergie, the Duchess of York (Harry Ferguson TO-30)...
Maxr, the biggest problem with the KX145 is it's too small a form factor, and too light to make an effective wheel chock. I use a Narco Mark III for a wheel chock, to good effect.
The issues you mentioned are reasonable possibilities. Wireweinie on this site has some EXCELLENT radio...
Maxr, my initial suggestions turn out to be unavailable. Have reached out to some others in the community who might not otherwise see your post. In my experience, you want someone who is actually a tailwheel instructor, not just a tailwheel "qualified" instructor.
Where are you specifically...
Bumping the thread: Thanks Clint and Larry for organizing this: Planning to roll in ~ mid day Thursday, 9.07.23, camp on the field if that's still OK. Might be another hangar neighbour or two also.
Thanks. cubscout
Good advice all around from previous posts. Just be aware, if using portable ground anchors the anchors will be the limiting factor. Recent tests of some of the currently popular brands showed they pulled out of the ground somewhere in the 400-500 pound range, but this is very much dependent on...
SJ, I believe you've been mis-pronouncing the region's name: It's Misery Breaks. At least that's what some of the Lewis and Clark expedition came to believe by that point in their journey.
Thanks. cubscout
Best left to what ethnographers call "the oral tradition", especially around campfires at Johnson Crick. Maybe Pierce needs an official Liars Bench in front of his hangar :-)
