    Continental O-470 Nitriding process?

This outfit might be able to help with what metal the crank is made of. They do cryogenic treatment on aircraft parts.

    Show your tractor

While I have a John Deere 4430 and a Ford 276 Bi directional with a loader, this is my quiet new piece of farm equipment. Electric Polaris good for 80 miles on a charge. Should make spraying weeds more fun than the back pack sprayer I used for years.

    Oops, darn it...

I've been wondering about the quality of workmanship on the rest of the plane besides the door plug problem. Too bad about the quality of American work force in general anymore.

Proposed 25-50 wind turbines 600 ft above ridge line just west of Fairbanks

Hotrod, such a nice day I had to get some pictures for you. When I first saw the dome I thought small nuclear reactor Ha Ha. This is different than anything I've seen before since they use sand for bedding in this, I think 7 or 8000 head milking facility and must run it through this dome tank to...

I noticed some big tanks with domed tops at two big dairies close to me and this is what they are for. The quote is about dairies in the adjoining county. The dairy cows eat byproducts from the local ethanol plants too. One of the "good" ethanol plants I'm in is using landfill gas and also...

Biodiesel that can be made from many different feedstocks, "french fry" grease being one, brings back the lubricity that low sulfur lacks. Just a few % is needed and works well in warm temperatures. I used to make my own and ran it in my VW Jetta TDI and John Deere 4430 at about 50% blend.

After experiencing being grounded by air pollution in Pennsylvania when flying the Clipper you own in 1972 and sitting in even/odd day gas lines during the 1973 oil embargo, I decided not to have any kids and do my part to be more sustainable.

I have two pipelines across land I own and don't have a problem but it seems about half the landowners are against pipelines on their property anymore so good luck. Remember the Dakota Access a few years ago? That goes through my county and paid big money so some happy some very unhappy. I'm in...

I think the blades feather around here. Do I take it that yours didn't have that capability??? The straight line wind we had that took the cattle shed roof, twice, wasn't 122 but was probably at least 80 mph. 122 mph around here would take about every structure standing plus the trees.

The green is part of the field I farm. We have about 250 turbines in the area and my cousins have about 16 on their land and collect about $10,000 per turbine per year. The geese are migrating through right now and don't seem to be having a problem. My cousins even had a bird study and no...

Wet wing fuel stain below rivet

I'm not sure but my plane wasn't the only one done that way. Quickdraw1 from Omaha posted this back in 2018 and said they took the wings off and sent them somewhere. The top skin was removed and you can see the bare metal in this picture. I wonder if it is to get it really cleaned up inside...

FAA Form 7480-1 registering private use runway

Have you thought about meeting with the wind farm planners to see if they will work with you on approach ends of your runway? We have a very large wind farm north and east of our public airport but none closer than two miles. I have cousins that have about 18 turbines on their farmland and they...
