Last I looked that “worksheet“ was superseded. Not sure what document is out there now, I’d have to do some research. In any case a Field Approval should be easy (maybe not from FAA, but from a DAR). I think it is hidden somewhere in Order 8900.1 but not sure.
Get your hangar and have the container dropped off at the hangar. I’ve done that several times when shipping the other way, they drop the container, fill it up and they pick up a day or two later.
We have a memo from FAA (Forget if it is AFS600 or AIR that says to use what is in AWC and supersedes what is in 8130.2. I'll have to try and find it if you want a copy. Not sure how to link a pdf but look up AIR-600-DM04 in DRS under AVS Policy for the memo.
It has been in AWC since April! Where are you located? I'm in MD and travel all up and down the east coast and east of the Mississippi doing DAR work. For the right price I've even gone to CA and Europe!
Here are the words for Limitation # 42 right out of AWC that are on a certificate I issued...
I've been issuing the new Op Limit since April 6 when the Memo came out from Air-600. The new op limit is worded incorrectly and I tell all my applicants that the geographic area still needs to be adhered to. A new version of 8130.2 will be released shortly.
I’m old school, I stick with dope! I’ve done Polyfiber (same thing as Stits just newer name) and AirTech. I know how to spray dope so prefer to stick with that. Very easy to repair as well. I have no desire to learn Stewarts System.
It is very plain in 91.409, an annual inspection is performed on an AIRCRAFT. The aircraft includes the engine, prop and all installed components. If you sign with the words in 43.11 and specify “aircraft” no farther entry is required!
65.93(a)(1) only says an annual inspection completed for each 90 days you hold the certificate. There is nothing in the regulation that says they need to be different aircraft. When I did work for flight schools every 100 hr was actually signed as an annual. The glider club I’m a member of now...
If your IA was looking for a Field Approval then he shouldn't have signed it yet. If he submitted it to the Registration branch he will never get anything back and you will only find out you have a problem if FAA does a records review of the airplane (like after an accident or part of a ramp check.
No block 3 entry, it isn't a field approval and the data cited is not approved data for the airplane. If it cited an STC with no exceptions it would be approved data but since there are exceptions, those exceptions need to be approved either with a DER 8110-3 or a block 3 field approval from an...
FCC regulations say 121.5 ELTs aren’t legal to sell. You can give them away but can’t sell. For new installations you need at least TSO C91a ELTs, you can’t legally make a new installation of a TSO C91 (no remote switch) ELT.
The AFS 300 job aid says Autopilots require an STC except simple single axis autopilot systems with limited control authority that are not required for operation of the airplane, such as a simple wing leveler system. An engineering analysis with the ACO should be done to determine the...
I would really be surprised if they could get it out in 2025. They need to adjudicate all the comments, rewrite the proposed rule, pass it through lega, rewrite it again based on what legal says and then finally issue the rule. The average for even a simple rule change is 3 or 4 years. more...
There is one that got a Field Approval so still Standard. I'm after my PMI to allow me to duplicate it for my PA-16 but he is hesitant. There is another that will be going Experimental Exhibition for the float installation in the near future. Both airplanes are in the same family (father and son).
