Ive seen shc 100 recommended for tailwheels.
Is this the grease? Or is an aviation specific version of shc 100?

Also- do i need any specific adapter for the tailwheel. Was going to get this.

Whoa, Nelly!!
Lets all take a breath. (Thats a collective all. I will take one too.)
I appreciate everyones input in helping me answer the question. Lots of good info for me to chew on. Thanks for taking the time to share what you know.
See attached.
Its 50 pages. Lots of supporting data from testsI believe were completed at GAMI test centers in Oklahoma.
Mike Busch of Savvy Aviation has lots of youtube videos where he preaches a similar practice. Mike runs his turbo 310 wide open, LOP throughout his flights as well.
Ha. Can of worms?
After watching a a two hour seminar by mike busch after i posted this I buy it for LOP operations. Air is in excess already in LOP operations so adding more doesnt add more power/stress. Power is controlled w mixture in LOP, and throttle in ROP ops.
I read this long tutorial on 550 ops by john deakin. Its many pages.
That author recommends running big bore continentals at full throttle for the entire flight regardless of altitude. Only adjust mixture and rpm based on fuel burn requirements (edit: only applies to LOP operations.)

Correct.
Apparently the 550 though was rated using a newer/different standard than the 520 where every 550 was required to make 550 from the factory. The 520 I think was only batch tested and it had to be within some percentage of 300 like 5% (there is a post covering this somewhere on the...
It has been a while since I polled the cognescenti.
All things being equal (which they never are) would you rather have a 185 that weighs 1795 lbs with a 350 hr io-520 or a 185 that weight 1955 lbs w a io-550 and 950 hrs on the engine. Why?
Pros for the ligher one are obvious- shorter...
The floor is actually in it. See picture.
I just want to ge able to add something to at least put some survival gear and tools back there behind the rear seat. Something to peotect the fabric on the side and and a backstop to keep stuff from going back into the tail.
I take it those little...
Been looking at a javron cub with no interior panels and baggage goes straight into tail with no backstop.
I was told owner wanted to do everything to keep weight down.
98% of my cub flying is done just joy riding empty. I take the cub camping every now and again- so would be nice to carry...
Looked at a javron with this setup recently.
All my pa-18 time is my stock 1950
Does that stuff get you anything or is it a “if aint broke dont fix it” situation?
That is interesting, Gary.
Had to do some digging as my w&b did not have the -135 envelope.
The reason is I have the borer gross weight increase to 1750 STC which changes the envelope to that of the -150.
I am not actually sure what that STC entails- or why it would change the limits but the...
I have only really ever flown my super cub. 1033#, 11.4 empty cg
I have heard light cubs are the best flying cubs which makes sense to me.
In discussions on o320 vs o360 many people say the o360 is nose heavy.
Can you tell if a cub will be nose heavy by the empty cg?
I recently saw a 1000...
