Been running my new Sensenich ground adjustable, and very happy. Trying to decide what to do with my old borer 82/42, and accessories. Expensive to replace, but collecting dust. Any reason or operation that I should keep it?
I flew mine for the first time today on floats.
150 hp. Set to #2 pin. Static was slightly less than the borer 82/42, can redline in cruise. Climbs great! 10mph faster at same 2550 rpm.
I think you should post a picture of that with the N #. One day it will be for sale w ndh to some unsuspecting buyer.
For the record. If you ever see my airplane looking like that, you have my permission to safely rescue it. For that matter, if you should happen to notice too much dirt sitting...
Another thing I’ve noticed w the new prop over my bore 82/42.
At least when light. With the bore on take off, two notches of flaps. Take off, lower the nose, accelerate, retract flaps, and repeat.

I’ve got more accurate numbers now. I lost 16.8lbs @-57” . Now when I’m On floats, when solo, I can lose 34lbs of baggage/ballast to stay in forward cg. Now the normal stuff I carry keeps me safe/legal, and insurable. Wow! With a passenger I can add a few gallons of gas.

I’m running an 82/42 bore now on a solid 150. Performance is respectable on floats, but I’m slow as molasses in cruise (87-93 mph at 2550), will run past 2700 in cruise.
Because of the amphibs, some quick math says if I can lose 15 lbs at -57”, I can also shed 10 lbs of ballast when traveling...
