    Oops, darn it...

I have flown quite a few different types of single and multi engine airplanes. I Have dealt with ice in most of them. I discovered ice once in a 182, no ice equipment, I was in the ice for about five minutes before the airplane was no longer happy flying, and it was descending from 5000’. Flying...

Sensenich composite propellers VS Borer Prop

Been running my new Sensenich ground adjustable, and very happy. Trying to decide what to do with my old borer 82/42, and accessories. Expensive to replace, but collecting dust. Any reason or operation that I should keep it?

    Sensenich Ground Adjustable Prop

I flew mine for the first time today on floats. 150 hp. Set to #2 pin. Static was slightly less than the borer 82/42, can redline in cruise. Climbs great! 10mph faster at same 2550 rpm.

    Pretty tough plane

I think you should post a picture of that with the N #. One day it will be for sale w ndh to some unsuspecting buyer. For the record. If you ever see my airplane looking like that, you have my permission to safely rescue it. For that matter, if you should happen to notice too much dirt sitting...

    Sensenich Ground Adjustable Prop

Another thing I’ve noticed w the new prop over my bore 82/42. At least when light. With the bore on take off, two notches of flaps. Take off, lower the nose, accelerate, retract flaps, and repeat. I do not recommend this procedure, and your results may vary, but with the new prop set at...

    Sensenich Ground Adjustable Prop

I’ve got more accurate numbers now. I lost 16.8lbs @-57” . Now when I’m On floats, when solo, I can lose 34lbs of baggage/ballast to stay in forward cg. Now the normal stuff I carry keeps me safe/legal, and insurable. Wow! With a passenger I can add a few gallons of gas. Tried the 4 pin. It...

    Sensenich Ground Adjustable Prop

I’m running an 82/42 bore now on a solid 150. Performance is respectable on floats, but I’m slow as molasses in cruise (87-93 mph at 2550), will run past 2700 in cruise. Because of the amphibs, some quick math says if I can lose 15 lbs at -57”, I can also shed 10 lbs of ballast when traveling...

    Oil cooler baffle assistance needed

Not going to claim I know anything about this, but I think we used to have one exactly like that in our old farmhouse bathroom (minus the minor mods). It’s been my understanding that (unless you have a field or recertification or are experimental,) that thing would give a fed a heart attack.

    It’s 9/11…..where we’re you?

Left NY the night before, and I was waking up in CA to lots of messages from friends and family wondering if I was safe. 3 days later, I flew to bfi and then to iad. Took off out of bfi and I was cleared direct to iad (DC). Heard one or two company flights on the radio, one or two fedex and...

Challenger Reusable Spin On Oil Filter

A friend of mine ordered one of these a few years ago, finally getting around to installing it. Does anyone know why his filter came without the bypass ball in the end? Mine has a bypass like the one pictured. His is closed solid.

    Sensenich Ground Adjustable Prop

I’ve been running a borer 82/42 on a solid 150. 15-25 seconds off the water (light or heavy), and cruise 2550 rpm average 88mph. What could I expect from the sen. and any idea what that ideal setting is? I know the cg shift alone should increase the cruise speed. I would really like to break...
