I heard the fella who made the wood SC models that they sold at Airframes has passed. They no longer sell those kits. Does anyone have an unbuilt kit they’d part with? Or know of something similar?
Steve - any more info behind the curtain? I tore my leading edge on my Borer on my last flight. I'm not sure it's dressable. I might have to hold tight and wait for the STC to pop.
I keep an iCom under my rear seat. Flying back country stuff, I use it fairly regularly. When I land, the engine pre-heater, iCom and aircraft battery tender all get plugged into the Switcheon. The night before a flight i switch it on and everything gets charged up.
Alex, when you get back, think about getting some duster hours if you can. There are always duster seats to fill, but the way cooler option is a SEAT job. The "foot in the door" for those jobs is the low-level spray experience. Look into Dauntless Air. They are a world class org...
TOTAL sidetrack here... but (for the same reasons as OP) when I solo camp or fly somewhere cold and remote, I toss the Honda 1000w inverter in the back. Full of gas it barely weighs 25#. I'll plug in, and she's toasty warm by the time I finish breakfast. You can also hold a conversation standing...
