Interesting...ad cites leather seats, VG's, tow hook, shoulder harness, tundra tires....
but doesn't even mention the spring gear.
BTW those look like C150 gear legs (check out the steps).
IMHO a...
Maybe I missed it, but I don't think the OP ever actually stated what kind of insurance prices he was quoted from anyone.
I am a confirmed tailwheel nut, about 95% of my time is in them,
but I have to point out that there's plenty of nosedraggers flying in the backcountry.
So except for pretty extreme places,...
I checked Spruce prices...looks like Grove pads are about halfway between Rapco & Cleveland.
I've been using Rapco pads for years...maybe next time around I'll give the Groves a try.
Insurance is wierd.
When I got my first taildragger (C170), I had maybe 300 hours in C150s & 152s.
So they wanted me to get a 5 hour 170 checkout.
No problem, I was (sort of) safe after those 5...
A guy at my airport has an old set of C150 wings stashed behind his hangar--
I think about that Badlands Traveller every time I see them.....
I installed a SkyTec Flyweight starter on my old 320-powered C150TD--
worked great (much better than the stock Prestolite), no problems.
I ran it til I sold the airplane-- 5-1/2 years and 680...
All (but one) of the airline guys I know are GA pilots, who fly a lot--
usually they own a Skywagon or Cub of some sort (sometimes both).
That's how I got to know them.
Most of them are damn good...
About 15 years ago, Maule introduced their M4-180V--
a round-tailed, 2 seat (side by side) taildragger.
It was very attractively priced-- just under $100K for a fixed pitch model,
and about 10K...
That's a bummer. I bought a cargo net from them a few years ago--
they have an amazing variety of sizes available, for very reasonable prices.
It seems strange that they would be shutting down...
"Future hobby"....I'm curious about when was the last time you flew an airplane that didn't burn jet A?
If it was before you started flying airliners, then it's not surprising that insurance is...
Depends on the discs you have.
I just bought a et of 40-75B wheels to mount my 26" GY's on.
The seller ran 26" GY's on them, & installed disc spacers for clearance.
I suspect my 40-75D wheels that...
Here's a link to the Flybaby webpage.
There's links to some Stromberg articles by Neal Wright.
Also a link to Harry Fenton's site, all about 4 banger Continentals.

I hope things work out for you, for a series of those books.
A few years ago, I noticed a kind of ticking sound in my 180.
Eventually I looked up into the (dual) exhausts--
one muffler had been missing the female tube since I'd bought it,
now the flame tube...
Or mix with 100LL.
I had flown into Tieton state airstrip at the east end of Rimrock Lake, east of Yakima WA,
& was walking around with some friends when we thought we heard some vehicle traffic coming on the adjacent...
Friend of mine owns a Cessna with a tail number ending in Kilo Yankee.
I call it "Jelly".
I would think that would be a non-event, if it's registration is still in effect.
File a bill of sale & application for registration showing the new owner--
just like if you were buying it from a...
Well, it sounds like you're half owner--
why not put the 800x4 set-up back on your half of the airplane?
Is non-skid really what you want there?
I would think something smooth so your feet can move back & forth freely.
It kinda doesn't matter what anyone thinks is a reasonable rate.
What matters is what you are quoted.
Call around & see where the quotes come in.
The low outfit this time might very well be the...
Bob, just which tires (and wheels?) did you install?
(and pics please)
