Depends on the mission, no? How much time hauling full loads in a SC out of short unimproved strips? How much did that piglet weigh empty, and what prop?
Exactly - more important than choice of generally accepted greases is the principle of not mixing them.
Also, ASG22 has largely been replaced by SHC100 because: ASG22 is "One of three widely used...
As always - a thoughtful and insightful contemplation from Jerry. Glad Blake is heading out on a high note. Looking forward to seeing you guys in the spring.

Denny's comment about a knock sensor made me laugh out loud because as I was reading through all this my thoughts were to those of us who have to use staged/stored gas that can sit for months. Long...
Thanks, Ted. What pistons, and what's running hot? Oil, CHT's? If oil, what cooler(s) do you have? Oil squirt system?
I wonder why Aero Sport is telling me that they want to build it with the...
titanium Sky Dynamics fly wheel
A true 195 hp is what's expected, per Aero Sport's experience/opinion. I don't think it will run hot with the lower compression pistons and big oil cooler.
We're using Dynafocal mount & hollow crank...

fuel injected stroked 375 engine with cold sump, some lightweight mods, E-mags
Yes - constant speed MT 2-blade. 44 lbs + front mount governor.
Planning on Airflow Perf FI, counter-weighted crank, 7.8:1 pistons and self-exciting P114 E-mags. Aero Sport just did the exact same...
Anyone have Aero Sport Power in Kamloops, BC build/deliver an engine for them in recent years? Considering having them build up an IO-375 for our Legend Cub and am seeking opinions/reviews. J
As of last week's report from their sales manager, Titan will only do 340 and 370 stroker engines (no 360's).
Will do.
Fortunately wasn’t me with the busted spring!
I’m out of AK01
This has been a helpful thread for planning. Any more 180 Cub weights and c.g.’s?
Yes
I believe the counterweights weigh approx 6 lbs.
The 12 lbs referenced are largely from taller cylinders.
A magnesium flywheel saves about 3.5 lbs
EDIT: JB said there's about 12 lbs...
Interesting point made to me today by Jim "JB" Ball of Titan/Continental: the low compression builds of the X370 do not have counterweights on the crank. Nor do any of the X340 builds. Only the 9.6:1...
Awesome!
This is for the larger experimental pod? (Not that there’s that much difference in overall size)
I thought they were now down to about 15 lbs of carbon fiber. This says 25.
Can you post the CG chart or numbers for the pod? I'm interested in calculating various loads at front and back "thirds." Maybe I'm overthinking it, but the pod on the Skywagon is pretty long and...
Have always wanted to land at Chisik and meet folks living there. Was invited by radio to stop in for coffee some years back but couldn’t find the time. I regret it now because fella is probably...
This discussion was a very interesting read.
Good point.
How’s your new pup doing? Has he been ski flying yet this winter?
Denny,
I’m going with fuel injection, so no carb heat and will have both sides to collect. Am planning on a defrost and trying to get heat toward the baggage section for our dog in winter. Would be...
