A piece of ingested metal can reportedly travel to more than one cylinder via the headers. Internal pressure waves can cause that. If suspected I'd borescope them all for any potential scoring or...
Did it suck in any metal?

Well there is one of those ADF style setups available. Civil Air Patrol and others have it. Someone already figured it out.

Probably on the belly of the tracking aircraft with the ants projecting down...it would likely work at distance on top but might be shielded by a metal fuselage underneath when close. Just a thought...
Actually some enterprising inventor could build a 4-square vertically polarized phased array mounted to a common groundplane. And/or attach same to the belly (metal ideal). They can be phased in four...

A local experimental PA-18 has fixed LE slots with extended stock form flaps - Dakota Cub style. After watching that plane on conventional gear and others here with slats and big flaps, if on floats...
I'd explore adding mechanizing to the Helio slats but only for floats. Easily said likely hard to do. The early Helios had an overhead hand crank to deploy the flaps. Maybe incorporate a similar...
The edited change from originally "stupidist post" to "mis-information post" informs. Stewart please tame your typing. We don't need that behavior among fellow pilots.

This is generally what Acry is asking about: https://www.telonics.com/literature/aircraft/ For fish we pointed them forward and used dual up to 4 element yagis with a phasing box and harness to add...

I'd like to hear from anyone that's flown Helio Couriers on floats. They do well on conventional gear with LE slats and log flaps at high AOA. Do the slats significantly add to performance on floats?...
Tire lettering goes back a clean Century - Firestone. I'm waiting for Bushwheels with whitewalls and chrome hubcaps with brush cutter blades.

I'm 5'8+" and 14 Stone. I can get in and out of my Taylorcraft with seaplane doors easily. With standard doors I'd not bother. A skylight adds interior head room. Champs are nice to get in and out....
I'd build a worm bed box. Add worms and artificial bait buried in the soil and feed them. Let the live ones add scent to the artificials. Might work better.

Good point about the deep hooking and fishing mortality. Gills and hooks don't get along well. No Bass here (and nearest Walleye is NW Canada). I try to use a barbless hook for our Alaskan species...
Those "rubber" worms or leeches do work when ice fishing. White is visible and a coating or injection of fish oil - WD40 - anise oil or similar seems to help when jigging the lure. A small syringe...
Common sense trumps regs when remote and away from a maintenance base. Save yourself and others.

How about just a real worm or nightcrawler? We used to water the yard just before dark and they'd crawl out later to get a breath.

They were swinging past $1000 a few years ago. My setup Field Approved (https://bandc.com/product/200g-alternator-12-amps-homebuilt-less-gear/#regulator) and Spruce's latest drive gear...

It's unfortunate that some enterprising DER or equivalent hasn't analyzed the PA-11 and designed a 100# GW upgrade. More robust gear hardware, wing or strut mods, and fuselage ads as required.
