Was it a 160hp engine…was there a yellow tag from last OH for the crank? Not all cranks pass to be 160 hp engines I remember being told by AVEMCO.
Just my two cents…you will be fine as described…I’ve only done one experimental and a few certified planes…my experimental cub is based of the 2+2 plans…and is widened close to 6” in he front seat...
My J5C with a 0235c using a McCulley 72x38 had one…saw one on my buddys with a 0235c1 as well…
Anybody have any info on the Backcountry Boss…looks like it too has some potential…

Not sure where you are located…but here in Alaska, this is what I have as must haves…for the plane. Emergency gear, emergency food, first aid kit, tool kit, wire, duck tape, oil, saw, fire starter. ...
Would be great to see a picture…the paperwork states the pilot needed to land to release, most likely for inflight CG issues? I’ll check when I return home…
I know this is an old post, however I have a 58 PA18A that worked off floats in the 1960s. It had special tanks fitted on the floats and was used for stocking fish in lakes on Kodak Island.(Per log...
Just finished disassembling a 1956 PA18A today….and didn’t see anything like that…
Very Nice!
I omitted the silk and have one small leak…I would use the silk if I do another engine…
Are you selling the brake mock-up? Nice looking…
Simply take an N number of a J5 that is know to have a 0320 in in…write the FAA and request the logs they have on file, then you can review what has actually been approved and how it was...
N35415 , A J5 owned by Kyle Irving in Alaska has one, along with flaps as well…nice looking 5…
It seems that nothing in this world is sacred…scrolling through Barnstormers and saw these add…Kinda a sad state of affairs….
O360-LYCOMING 4 CYLINDER • $8,000 • BUYER BEWARE - THIS AD WAS POSTED...
I’ve spent some time reviewing this in my head…a couple added notes…
I did notice oil temp start to climb prior to this incident.
I did check fuel flow after the first incident…both tanks...
Thought I would follow up…was a beautiful day here in Valdez…so decided to fire up…flew nearly two hours, trouble free, carb ice free, engine stumble free…plane ran great and seemed to produce plenty...
Av Gas…100LL,
[QUOTE=aktango58;811069]Hmmm, I do wonder what engine you have in what plane with your story.
0320 Wide Deck, Bracket Air Filter, 10:1 pistons, Catto Prop.
2350 as noted…had not used carb heat in the last 15-20 min…
Has anyone ever had carb ice shut then engine down? Engine stumbled for a second or two then off…pulled carb heat, pumped gas a time or two, the engine re-started…
Evening flight
45-50 degrees, ...
I extended my cord of my flaps by 2.5" WITH GOOD RESULTS...also extended inboard...exp PA12ish
PA12 is a great plane...150 hp versions are nice, but don’t overlook a 12 equipped with a 0-235...A J5 is a nice flying plane as well and is essentially a early version 12...good luck!
“is the rest of the world dying at a horribly higher rates of Colon Cancer?” YES! The Unites States isn’t even in the top twenty five... remember...this is a good post, regardless of tone, humor...
I think Keller Flaps improve the slat....with that said I have original style flaps, extended inboard and added three inches cord wise...when doing real world, back country landings in rougher...
