My guess is under 30”…..but what do I know?
my bigger question is who has a manifold pressure gauge who hasn’t gone to a full digital engine instrument cluster.

I made my first flight on my field approved Sensenich yesterday. I also had spinner issues so I flew without the spinner. Speed was 5 mph better with a #4 pitch from wolf lake to lake hood.

How much?
Flew a Beech 18 with factory flashing position lights, owned a 61’ 182 with the same factory flashing nav lights.
Not sure why they’d be illegal.
Friend who’s an aircraft broker said missing logs, 20% off the book value right off the bat.
That was before the market went crazy though. He also made the point about not over spending on...
Ok… kind of stupid probably but me and a buddy are thinking about a Murphy Moose.
Does anyone around here have any experience with one? Speed, payload etc?
We are thinking of something to...
Just started looking for a moose. If someone knows of one flying, neglected, or forgotten project let me know!
Thanks,
Brett

I have header tanks…can’t see a downside to them. I did install the Dakota Cub valve, it has a both selection and I have started using that 90% of the time.
If I’m running minimum fuel for the...
I saw only 1 post discussing the real problems.
Gateway to user fees. When the government finally decides they are missing out on too much revenue by you rich pilots it’ll be required.
Imagine how screwed you would have been in that 180 you were talking about. Trying to move one of those around on asphalt is hard enough!
Promech.
I used to operate an F27 in SE Alaska. We used Promech for contract maintenance. We had a lot of oil (more than usual) on the cowl one day, and had dispatch call contract maintenance. ...
Work keeps track of my proficiency…I have no interest in that. I keep track of my proficiency in the cub….but my logs aren’t as neat as the were at 10k hours.
Aircraft logs for me are pretty...
I third the I wish I still had my front oil cooler group.
Try starting on just the left mag, or whatever mag has the impulse coupler. I can’t start mine with both mags hot when it’s cold.
I was flying BE18’s when the David Clark H13X came out. They seemed able to keep up with 2 985s with short stacks. They weren’t very comfortable by todays standards though.
I still have them….but...
Is the pouch with the radio in it big enough to hold a water bottle?
They got rid of the firearm requirements when Canada started charging to carry a rifle through their country.
Dakota Cub fuel valve is a piece of art
When I’m down in the lower 48, I trade my 44 for a 357. I’m more scared of the weirdos and mountain lions than bears.
I’ll be down that way this summer. My brother is flying the Chief down and...

There’s probably a parts place in Redmond you can probably get it. I don’t think I’ve been to Redmond since the 90s though, and I know it’s changed.
I use a Garmin 686 for navigation, and I admit that I still fly with a paper chart also.
The AV30 is strictly for emergency. Like MTV said there were a few times that something like that would have...
I would much rather the AV30 over a dog house for standard turn information. In a small airplane I know 20-25 degrees bank will get me pretty close to a 180 in a minute. It has a ball for...
Been looking at this thread for a couple days. Just took a good look at the panel on one of the first posts.
I would get rid of the T&B and put an AV30 in its hole. It’s got a T&B built into it....
And the nice thing about a bad battery on a Cub….I can always prop it. I won’t do that on a 185 with a 3 bladed prop
All of the sudden owning a hangar in Palmer doesn't seem that bad:-P
