No wonder it's hard to get and accurate conversion weight from 31s to 35s. Somewhere between 24 and 38 lbs seems like a big range.

I have a set of older worn out 31s that are 41.22 lbs each on a 3 bolt 1.5 inch axle Cleveland wheel with the thinner brake disc.
The fairly early (experimental) 35s I use are on Greg Miller's...
35s can be really tough if they have been on for a while. I tried to get them off the rims for the ferry flight and eventually gave up for fear of damage.

If the Borer is turning 2700 on takeoff, what RPM does it turn in a climb?

Any reason against switching an O-360 C4P to a hollow crank during rebuild?
Jason at Aerotech says the AD on the hollow crank bore was later proven to be based on a couple cranks that were prop...
Those early models don't really need an interior. I would ditch it. StewartB's interior style is nice if you want something in there.

I have time in the 56, 57, 59, 60, 66, 79, 81 T182 and newer T182T.
Worked the 66 in the jungle. The bigger cabin is cool and will fit three skinny folks on the bench but I hated the lowrider gear...
A little unorthodox, but the engine left Miami yesterday on it's way to Nova Scotia.52114

I can get a CO alarm in a low power cruise descent if not perfectly coordinated. I'm safer to overuse the left rudder in a descent to keep fumes from coming in the left side. I have a Carbon Concepts...
I typically see 205 in cruise. Can get up to 220 in a long climb.

If spring gear is better/safer for your mission, go for it. There are many options...starting with the XCub. Maybe Cubcrafters will have a spring gear option on the FX/EX planes in the future for...
Good news! Aerotec Engines in Nova Scotia offered to sponsor us with a rebuild.
Question 1: Who has had cylinder cracking issues that can be attributed to the loss of material due to a port/polish...
Do you need to support it with a hoist?

At this point I'm planning to have Mission Maintenance Service in Ohio do the rebuild and break-in at their repair station.

If 1300 lbs is with pod and 35s that sounds decent. Seems like a similarly equipped Cub could weigh that much.

I just want to say thank you to Pierce and others for being quick to share real world experience on this forum with those who want to know. Stick around here long enough and its easy to recognize who...
Yes, import and export are an issue. I don't know anyone in Brazil. I do know of one shop in Bolivia and wouldn't trust them at all. I've seen a pencil whipped overhaul they did on a Cub we looked...
Yep I did over analyze too. It can be hard to sift through the internet static and get good info.
You are gonna love those Acmes!!!
BTW here is what my version of stupid looks like....not bad...
Cubs have very tough gear already. The modern shocks let us get away with even more. Its likely that CC accidents and incidents would be more frequent and worse with bungees. I think my TK1 incident...
