Much more useful than ADS-B or SIRIUSXM WX when in the proximity to TRWs is this:...
Since it is E-AB "amateur-built", it is the builder who is the final determiner of the max gross weight. If the builder looks into the limits set by Barrows and understands what those are and mean,...
What do you consider the requirement to be for "IFR capability"? The actual requirements are small. Most airplanes which are "IFR equipped" are overloaded with extra not needed stuff which is only...

That alone is proof the double slotted flaps have more lift.
If you like to pull the flaps to pop off the water, coordinate simultaneously pulling back on the stick to maintain the sweet spot.

Something to consider is the angle of attack of the wings during acceleration. There are many shown in videos who appear to like to carry the tail in a very high attitude during the take off run....
jimbo,
Since your old thread has been brought to the light again and you have posted pictures elsewhere of your plane with the new flaps, what did you find for a change with the new flaps?. Was the...
Keep in mind, a spin is a stall maneuver in which one wing is stalled. As a result the forward indicated airspeed will be low. So, after you stop the rotation raise the nose quickly before the speed...

Looks like an old oil & Stone surface. Not really designed for a low mounted blow torch. Looks like the Vampire's liability insurance premium will be going up.
And throw dirt and stones all over the place.
It is my understanding the Whirlwind props are using the design studies of the late Paul Lipps. He had some good ideas, it's too bad he went west at too young an age.
This is informative....
bob has the experience with these. Often times a seal such as this appears to be a flat square sided "special" seal. An "O" ring over time forms it's shape to match where it is placed. My thoughts...
It might be advisable to make the spacers out of a sacrificial materiel rather than wearing down the wrong parts. Bronze?
Did it break through the holes? Or somewhere else? If it was somewhere else, the double drilling wasn't the cause.
Steve, Look at this photo. Notice the tubing above the two main gear fittings. It looks very substantial to me.
