Convinced me, too. I'd been meaning to get one for the past year.

That's what I was thinking. These were the first parts I made on my project some 2 years ago. I can't remember having any particular trouble. I used a basic bending brake and 20 ga. mild steel too. I...
I remember using some bar stock between the finger and the part to bend so it wouldn't flatten the edge.
But it was easier to cut oversize so you could clamp down more for the edge bend, then trim...
That's strange. They show up on my phone app but not on the computer for me.

Aircraft Spruce is a good source, but it might take a while. I waited several months from first inquiry last year for two sets of spruce spars.
There is a mill in Port Angeles worth checking out....
I'll find that interesting. I was shaping some polystyrene boards into flap shapes with an idea of getting some empirical data on a rig in the back of a pickup. I may never get to that project, but...
Exactly! My material budget and tool/equipment budget are running neck to neck.

Get a couple of books by Tony Bingelis: The Sportplane Builder and Sportplane Construction Techniques.
I also found Dave Russo's book very helpful:
Construction of Tubular Steel Fuselages'...
Yes, I'd be interested in the whole lot. PM me when you uncover them.
Thanks!

Mike, I watch your videos and realize I have a long way to go in this fabrication game. Very nice.
That would be cool!

That sounds interesting. I haven't tried that. Maybe I'll give it a try this long weekend.
Thanks for jogging my memory. It caused me to remember that I met a guy who is a pilot for an aeronautical machine shop that subs work for Boeing and others. He told me if I needed something made up,...
Before I assembled the wing, I wanted to get some hardware in order to locate it on the spars. I looked at the Lift Strut attachment fittings and decided I ought to just buy them because of the...
That's common on boats with compound curves. Sometimes you just need to stand away a bit and move the line to what looks right.

I like road trips with a purpose. It feels good to have a supply of stuff to work on.
I just saw 4 aircraft over Bozeman MT--none over Helena, on ADS-B exchange
Unintentional at first, but before I hit post I saw it.... ;)
I'm trying to get educated enough to weigh the options. Assuming in the neighborhood of 12 feet from approx. midpoint of flap on one wing to the other. That's not a fixed idea, but a starting point....
Drag tube through the tank. Is Javron the only one holding to the old setup? I'm probably going to do the same thing.
