any one know when you recover landing gear do you need a AI sing off and a 337 to return to service

Landing gear recover? What landing gear recover? Who me? ;-) I would call it a minor repair, log book by A&P only.

Another thought, check out the list of preventative maintenance items. You may be able to sign it off as the pilot/owner without an A&P. "Repaired fabric on landing gear leg using the ------- process" signed, me.

If the log book is not in the hanger it may not have seen the gear recovered. I keep my plane and logbook far apart that way log book only knows what I or my IA says was done.8)

Of course there is one other option. If you lived just one State north of where you do, you would be asked "What is that all over your landing gear?". :lol:
