I am considering to build news safety cables for exp. PA18.
The ones, I build few years ago use a loop of x2 1/8 7x9 cables and around ~34" long.
I am interesting to get close to the best size use for standard PA18 / J3 landing gear.
I am also planing to fit the cable into tygon...
Just let you know that finaly I went to repair and SB8 application on my AVSTAR for ~350$.
That is the sum of all charges shipping in and out plus gaskets and work.
I am looking to figure the approximate repair cost of a carburetor impacted by a SB due to bad gasket original manufacturer installation.
Does anyone have idea of the bill ? Does Avstar, Kelly .. and the others took their own responsibilities ?

I will check the carburator drain. I already check the way that the accelerator arm is moving, it is free.
But what's about aging of the engine when never achieving the correct rating in RPM ?
I just flight test my experimental and I cannot achieve the maximum RPM of an O235N ( ~2800RPM) I am stuck at 2500 RPM @ ~90Kts. That the TKOFF RPM and the maximum RPM. The prop. is a 74 diameter with pitch at 46. It the one suggested for a similar aircraft same engine by manufacturer.

Finaly I didn't install them because it damages the bags that enclose the shock cords ( cover skins ).
It looks nice on the dampers of PA18, L21 ... but on a Cub, that's look not really applicable.
