Bozeman.... well, Gaston's there. Airport FBO ain't too bad and you can take off from the taxiways if you firewall before the tower opens. And there's Sir Scott's Oasis Steakhouse & Lounge in Manhattan - which is just a shade outside of BZN proper. Have the porterhouse.
L-14 was placarded "Will Not Spin In Normal Category". Want to talk about spin testing and the Dakota slotted wing? Scare up Mark Erickson or Penny Nixon - get the straight skinny from the horses mouth.
There is no slat in a slotted wing. There is a secondary airfoil (secondary leading edge if you want) created by the slot within the existing wing chord. If we can just get to slot=within the primary airfoil chord and slat=outside the primary airfoil chord, confusion will likely dissipate.

skywagon8 - I'm sure I will shortly take a beat down as a "grammar policeman" but I think its important to know:
Slats are an independent airfoil (either moveable or not) affixed to the primary (wing) airfoil. They are outside the chord of the primary airfoil.

Rossy99 - Mike Butterfield of Yakima Aero Sport in Yakima, Washington has turbo normalized several engines (I think I have the terminology correct) in two Supercubs. I am sure he'd be happy to talk with you about those installs. You can reach him at 509-453-3412 PST/PDT.
Just wanted to take a moment and say thanks to all that replied to my question. I appreciate the help and we got it sorted out. Sorry to be late getting back to the replies but I've been tied up with home/family stuff. Many thanks again and a very Happy New Year to all!!
Anybody happen to know if the Alaska Bush Pod can be used with 8.50x6 tires (vice bushwheels) installed? Already tried calling Bob Piatt - line is constantly busy. Is he still in the pod business?
