I’m with you. It seems about 50% or more of the local GA traffic up here doesn’t even have a transponder. I think ADSB traffic is an awesome tool, but it definitely doesn’t exempt anybody from their basic “see and avoid” traffic scan
Yep, you are correct. I was just saying that the aircraft involved in the Ketchikan accident did not have aural warnings. I flew the same avionics package when I was flying floats in Juneau. They all use Chelton flight logic which was a very early glass/adsb system that was paid for by the state...
The system that all the operators in southeast Alaska are running does not have aural alerts. If I remember correctly, only the Otter involved in that accident was adsb equipped
Thanks for the replies guys. I have an A&P friend looking at the plane and if he doesn’t find anything alarming I’ll move on having a pre-buy/annual done
Hey guys. Just finished looking at a PA-12 in Soldotna, AK and would like to move forward doing a pre-buy inspection. The plane’s annual is up at the end of August so I would like it to be an IA who really knows 12s well.
Thanks in advance

Hey everyone. Looking at an aircraft north of Santa Rosa, CA and am not from the area. Do any of you know a good mechanic familiar with the PA-18 in the area?
Thanks in advance
