yeah, i was just thinking about buying a set of AOSS gear, this has kinda put me off. guess safety cables wouldn't have saved this one. i hate seeing stuff wrecked like that, it makes me nervous......... i'd like to know the real story?
Well sence it wasn't me I won't mention any names but here's what happend. On takeoff drifted left and cliped a low steel post that sheird off the AOSS at the axle.
If you google Michael Curtin Pearson Field you can get the news story our son is the tall red head and Iam in the brown plaid I think at the time the photo was taken I was on the phone with DW ask his wise advice on how to move this now. no one hert no wing damage prop made some contact. Its geting fixed as of 3-29. A real memory maker
I wouldn't think that the AOSS had anything to do with this accident.I can assure you the damage would have been worse with factory gear. After all, the plane drifted off the runway and hit something. I have been very satisfied with my AOSS and it is worth noting that AOSS gear is in use by the majority of those who operate off airport in Alaska...and around the world.
I hope the owner sends it back to Burl Rogers so he might do a thorough analysis. Just my 2 cents worth!
