I was there yesterday, very cool town. Considering the bad weather forecast for Valdez this weekend, Talkeetna might be a great contest.

For those of you who missed the Valdez show why don't you head up to Talkeetna this coming weekend, 19&20 of May.

The village strip is still closed and marked with red cone X'es on both ends. Should be NOTAM closed as well. We had a lot of snow this year which was great but it's late melting and combined rain has it softer then usual. The first googon to rut up the strip will have to run the gauntlet of Garlach ;) WHEN THE RED CONES ARE OFF THE VILLAGE STRIP IT IS SAFE TO LAND.

I'll be flipping pancakes at the runway with the Raodhouse for the free feed on Sunday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 am

The big runway has been changed to 01/19 and had some added taxiways and paved parking so be sure to update your iDevices for taxi diagrams etc.

Hope to see you out here.

I hope somebody shoots some video and reports on the results. I've got an airplane to finish so can't spare the day to attend, but I sure do appreciate the effort from the organizers and volunteers. Good luck and have fun!

yep. great numbers!

interesting to see the C180's in the 185 class..........180's Hauling around 800 pounds less than the 185's .......on the same size wing

Yes the numbers are impressive.
A couple of things stood out to me as I usually look at landing performance.

>Tom's 59 foot landing @ 1800 lbs. Those slats really make a difference at weight.

>Hasner and Holly are over the top crazy good with their 170's @ 2100lbs landing in the 150 foot range.

>Kevin with the 180 hp stock wing cub with 105 foot landing @ 1700 lbs

These landing distances have me shaking my head. Does anyone know what the wind was doing?

Thanks to all the participants--great job and great numbers!
