On the back of my B&C Alternator is the clip that holds the 2 field wires in place. In my installation I'm up tight against the firewall 1/4" clearance and there is no room for the clip. I am making some spacers to move the engine forward 1/4 to 3/8" to allow more room but I would like to have a solution for the stock clip. I built a 90 degree setup that will fit but it's far from optimal. I also thought I could remove the alternator and solder 2 wires directly to the back of the alt, and route to a connector to the regulator.
There is no ability to cut an access hole in the firewall as the upper cross brace is directly behind the connector.
Are there any locking spade terminals that I could use, or perhaps someone knows of a shorter clip? Photos attached...
Thanks for the help,
Nelson
