The sentence about the National Guard not being permitted to compete with private enterprise is the real deal. If Guardian (a very good company, by the way) can come up with the equipment and personnel, they'll get it, and MAST will probably not be re-instituted in future, even after they return. I suspect politics is all that's kept MAST in the Interior for a lot of years anyway.
The problem that Guardian faces is they will probably need to come up with a winch equipped helicopter to meet the job requirements, and that means a fairly large helicopter.
But, Guardian has done a great job building the business so far, and I have no doubt they can fill this niche as well. I wish them luck.
