J5 (J3 style) Shock Strut Lubrication

I've got my shock struts off the J5 to replace my bungees.

I'm cleaning and repainting to make everything pretty and remove some slight surface corrosion. What should be used to lubricate the internal sliding parts between the short and long shock strut pieces? Dry graphite, bearing grease?

Don't forget to check the leather disk inside the short strut. It acts as a cushion/shock absorber when the gear bottoms out. These get compressed or sometimes even lost.
