Floats Alaska High Intensity Discharge HID Lights leaps up and forward. We have just gotten the Osram systems approved on our STC. These units are an improvement over the Philips equipment and allow us to use a higher quality and better fitting Lens reflector made in America. It is lighter, The electrical plugs are sealed, and the ballast is about half the height of our previous system. This is particularly an advantage on Super cub type aircraft because it allows ballast mounting in the landing light bay. This eliminates the need for a panel in the wing and fabricating/mounting the spar mount plate and will slash the installation costs.
