9/21/2006 Yakima, WA and Andover, NJ: An historic milestone was reached yesterday at CubCrafters headquarters in Yakima, Washington and at Andover Flight Academy in Andover, New Jersey. The culmination of over three years of effort in design, testing, prototyping and finally building an all-new airplane for the Light Sport Category was reached with the delivery celebrations of the first two 'customer' CC11-100 SPORT CUBS. CubCrafters President Jim Richmond summed up the day's events: "What a great day for our customers, our employees, and the entire CubCrafters family. We say "thank you" to all of those who worked and waited with us so patiently while we completely re-designed the airplane that inspired the new category. These pictures of Mr. Ron Ward of Juneau, AK and Mr. Michael Davis of Brooklyn, NY describe how we all feel today better than any words I can think of. Congratulations Ron, Michael, and to everyone that has played a role in reaching this momentous occasion."

The SPORT CUB production and delivery rate is now scheduled to accelerate to one per week over the next four to six weeks and on to two per week near the turn of the year.
