Major TFR Changes

Mikey

FRIEND
Everett, WA
Yesterday DOD made some major reductions in the airspace covered by the 5 TFRs in our WA state and in other locations. Its been a long time coming, but for the first time in a long time I feel that our letters and efforts of out advocacy groups such as AOPA and EAA have paid off. If you agree, take time to send them and your Congressmen a thank you email. Make sure especially the 'non-flying' ones appreciate the operational problems solved (or still remaining).
FYI for NW flyers, we have some Temp TFRs next week w/ Bush or Cheney in the area, just checking the AFSS Recording won't get you that data, you need a live briefeing or DUAT NOTAM check FOR THE RIGHT AIRPORT. I head a float driver heading south from Kenmore last time almost stumble into one over Lake WA if not for somebody on UNICOM giving him a heads up.
