Does anybody know how to properly remove an old decal from the tail of a cub to be replaced with a new one? The paint is polyurathane.

Most polyurethanes are impervious to MEK. You might try it on a less conspicuous spot first.

Call the local sign supply company. There is a vinyl removal cemical in a spray can. It makes the decal blister. Scrape it off with plastic squeege or plastic razor blade. Then clean up the adhesive. There is also a grinding wheel made for decal removal. Same scource.

Vinyl signmakers use a variety of substances. Here's a link to one I like to use which works well.

I'd avoid MEK and heat guns. Even a benign substance like Goo Gone and a Lil Chisler plastic scraper ( http://www.enduragloss.com/Templates/frmTemplateS.asp?CatalogID=9709 ) can be more than enough to remove even tough graphics.
