New to Floats

Bought a home on a lake in Alaska last summer. The lake is 2000 ft by 1400 ft with 100 ft obstacles along the shore. Have lots of land time and have my float rating. Any suggestions on a good setup for a Cub or other floatplane for this size lake would be appreciated.

Hi Mike,

I see on your post that you spend some time in Florida. Me too. I fly a J-3 on floats with 100hp. I think it would be a great plane for you. Lots of fun, slow getting there if you're going far. What kind of flying will you be doing in Alaska? That will have a lot to do with what kind of plane to get.

Where are you when in Florida?
