Retaining clip for cowl fastener

The retaining flange on one of my cowl fasteners has become worn away and the fastener now has a habit of coming undone in flight.

I can't figure out if what I need is part number 12707-00 (Cup - Cowl fastener) or 484 341 (Receptacle - Cowl fastener).

Also, what are the part number(s) of the Dzus fasteners I need to secure the bottom cowl? Mine all fit, bar one, which needs a slightly longer Dzus fastener than I have.

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks a lot,

David

They should be Southco Fasteners. Here is a link to the specifications http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/hapages/determinstudno.php
I use the Southco Wear Washer. It saves your cowling over the years. I use the stainless split ring retainers to hold the stud in the cowl. A good deep socket makes pushing them over the stud easy. The plastic push on retainer works well also. Here are the receptacles. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/hapages/82southRecep1.php
I don't remember the sizes off the top of my head but can get them if needed.

Thanks Steve,

Can't quite figure out which is the bit I need. I need the little metal flange that holds the cowl fastener in place and stops it popping out.

I am also confused about the Southco fasteners, but maybe I will just order a selection. It's always hard ordering off a catalogue number!

Sorry, I didn't look in the parts manual before. I thought you were looking for the receptacles for the top and bottom cowl. I see you need the parts for the hinged side cowls. They are Airlock. The only place I know to get them is Univair. There are a lot of old tractors that use Airlock so they might be available somewhere.

Hi Steve, Could you get me the sizes of the fasteners. I am missing one on the front top right hand side. I am going to buy a set of replacements and plus quite afew spares. Thanks in advance. Tony.

Hey Steve,

Many thanks. I too worked out that was the size. I just needed some confirmation from an Oracle before I placed the order.

Take care.

Tony
