Knife steel and ye old Alaska knife

No wonder my 3 Dog Knife in M390 steel is more difficult to resharpen than my old USMC KA-BAR (3DK is an Anchorage company ABOUT | 3DK (3dogknife.com). By the way - I am thoroughly impressed with the workmanship of the MAK (Multi Animal Knife). It’s a 4” fixed blade.

Custom knives are another fun subject.

My son gave me a Montana-made Simon Stonehocker knife for Christmas. It is made from one of the steels in the linked article; s90v. The handle is made from Shiras moose antler and it came with a nice Kydex sheath. I’m looking forward to using it next fall. Maybe I’ll finally draw a Shiras moose tag in Montana?

Electricity is easier to understand than knife steel.
