Model years of super cub

Hello friends,
I'm looking around for a pa-18 150, and am learning lots from this group! My question today is there much difference between model years from the start to the end of production run? Is a 1950 with an restore done worth the same as a 1977 with same times and workmanship?
Thanks
Sheldon

Look around for an 18-160, and pay attention to empty weight and whether it is straight and flies hands off with the trim tab. The lightest ones are the 1950s era. The heaviest ones have been weighed.

It is not as simple as when it was built. I own a 1951 pa18A The stick is about the only thing that has not been replaced over the last 68 years. Lots of planes have damage history/repairs/upgrades that was never noted in the logs, or the logs have been lost. The first thing to find when looking for a cub is a good IA that knows cubs, then you can go look for a plane.
