Anyone else get nervous with the two guys prop turning together, and standing what looks like 3 feet in front with the heater during startup?

Ahhhh.... those were the days! Lol.

I used to have one of those hand cranked heaters. Burned the generator belt right off the engine with it!

It had a big coil at the outlet on which gasoline dripped where it was ignited with a match. The faster you cranked the fan, the faster the fuel dripped, the hotter the heat. It took a while to get the fire going enough to maintain without blowing it out. Someone did a clean out of the hangar throwing it out without my knowledge.

My good aarp cowboy friend was just reminicsing the other day as we sat on a hilltop in deep powder snow enjoying a cup of tea. Says his sister was just telling him if he'd just turn the place over to the kids he could be sitting in the shade enjoying the green grass and weather of wonderful California!! Said it only takes her 15-20 minutes to get out of her lane on to the highway due to traffic.
We could only shake our heads as we got back on our steeds and headed down hill !! No traffic to deal with here !!

I wouldn't call it a jump, more like a fall down the drift. I love this time of winter, good base and all the rocks and logs in the fence rows and woods are covered. I ride different then most, even though the groomed trail system goes right past the end of my runway I don't use it. I prefer to ride where there is no trail picking my way as I go. No helmet needed for 10mph up on one knee riding thru my playground.

Lots of good memories on those old Olympics. My wife rolled us down a hill like the one in your picture.I remember pushing it over us with my feet
My kids spent hours towing each other up the sledding hill
My Dad and I spent so many days and nights trail riding
    Priceless!

Didnít make it to marks today, had some work to do at noon. Went to S&J. Roger was thrilled.
Brian met me. He learned some great ski lessons today. Shut down and started to slide back. We got him stopped. Had a fun landing too.

Went to wini and Alton. Only landed 38 times today

We landed on every lake we flew over. Got home after sunset. Perfect day.

My friend Jim finally got his Champ on skis and landed at my place this morning. We weren't going to go far so we flew up to Sport island pub to get Jim some ice time. As we were leaving we heard a plane and 4 CC and a Citabria fly by. The last CC yellow and silver breaks off and lands by us. I thought maybe Peter had made a copy of the keys of Jim Cs Cub, to my surprise Jim Crane jumps out.

We left there and flew over to Like Desolation for pizza. Then poor Joe, Jeff Irwin and Paul in the Citabria land.
    The web cam was busy

Jim C had to take his cub and drop it off at Saratoga and drive back to Bangor Maine. I mentioned to Jeff and poor Joe that there was a vintage sled weinie roast just over the hill from my strip. So we went there

This hill is really steep and the kids and some dad's we cranking going down this

    Wipeout

This kid was jumping over the top of these 20' trees and going over 100' before landing

    Otsego

Thank you to the Lady Jet Blue Capt who let my 5 yo granddaughter sit in her seat and spent a few minutes letting her play pilot. Made her first trip to Disney an even more exciting adventure.

When we first landed at the weinie roast we landed on the top of the hill but then took back off and landed by the event. Friend took this picture of Poor Joe coming off of the hill top.

Oh my. Brenda bought me a couple of tix to Stevie Nicks in concert last year at the casino in CT. She still sounded very good, but maybe, ahem, a bit wider across the reverse side
Also Mr JP, its kinda scary that my own blessed bride was almost a spitting image of Stevie when we got married. I suppose bonus points for a picture eh???
Thanks for the blast from the past. I wont be right the rest of the day

On Saturday I went down the lake from Shelburne to Benson, not a single shanty, the red fabric shelters are everywhere. I used to run down snowmobiles with my ski Champ in the eighties, sometimes it would take awhile. No skiis this year.

Hope I didn't disrupt the pheasant hunt too badly.
