Mine has a doubler, more like a oblong washer, then a flat washer, and a locking nut under the glare shield. I think it has a rubber gasket between v-brace and glare shield on top.
Eddie, I can’t remember what the factory used, but on my 170, we used a doubler under the glare shield. You’ll be amazed at how much less movement of the windshield you’ll see after installing a V brace.
