    Cowl badge

Anybody familiar with the diffrent cowl badges on supercubs? the last 2 Cubs I've bought have both had diffrent badges and the only planes I've owned that have had them, just curious what Piper offered over the years.

That's the only two I've seen
I may be wrong but that probably won't stop me from arguing about it.

The first one there was also fitted to early tri-pacers. The second is I think taken from a Pacer control wheel & made into 'personalised' Cub.

Ruffair, actually it's been done. I won the sort-of art deco triangle shaped one at Dave Kirsten's potlatch during National Bushwheel Awareness week several years ago. Stuck it in a drawer, but eventually Girlscout bought me a proper Carhartt leather belt. So a couple years after that, was helping Kirsten clean up the grounds on Sunday of NBA week, and he asked where I got it. You've gotta be quick-witted around Dave, so I improvised an adaptation of an old cowboy joke about beltbuckles:

The three biggest lies at a Supercub gathering:
    1. The 'cub is payed for.
    2. My empty weight is 920#
And (drumroll please) 3. I won the belt buckle in the big STOL contest.

Ya can't make this stuff up, just ask Dave Kirsten.

    Thanks. cubscout

I heard those big cowboy beltbuckles were nicknamed tombstones. 'Cause everything under them is dead. Oh my!
You can't get there from here. You have to go over yonder and start from there.

Must not be any real Cowboys in Washington State. Pretty common to hear jingling spurs or see someone on a horse at the convenience store around here.

Same way in Okeechobee where my plane is. Cattle Country and plenty of "Real" cowboys!
