IO-320 A2B Motor mount

STEEL

Registered User
I managed to find a good IO-320 A2B to use on my PA- 18 150 experimental. (Scratch Build)
I have started building the jig for the motor mount as per the plans, when I started wondering about sticking to the Dynafocal as per plans or going Conical for the mount.
I have built the jig with Zero thrust angle.
Any recommendations...
Thanks

Stock Super Cub uses a conical mount and I believe the engine you have is a conical mount. What plans are you using?

Looks like all the IO-320 engines are type 2 dynafocal mounts. The engine mount drawing is for the conical.

Thanks Steve,
I will need to modify the jig to accommodate the the type 2 dynafocal then.

I see Spruce sells the ring kit PN 33521-B for type2 and then I can cut and weld the rest of the pipes as per Piper plan to make up my own frame with swing out mount...
I think I will go one size up on the tube OD and wall thickness...
Anyone done their own before?
Thanks
