Pitch system on 180 uses a trimming stabilizer. The 182 uses a trim tab on the elevator. Thus a different pitch control on the autopilot.

It's alive!! No smoke!

Garmin was very helpful. Turns out I did not have the latest installation document. MapMX from GTX 335 to G5 and GTR 225.

Panel wiring is all in. 90% done and 90% to go. The panel lit up with no smoke!

Old story but maybe worth repeating. I replaced my old stock interior with Selkirk panels. The installation was a huge pain. Once it was done I really didn't care for the appearance. I ripped it out and replaced it with Plane Plastics, which looks much more like stock plastic panels. MUCH easier to install. Like Selkirk the parts require painting. No big deal. After lots of testing I used standard Krylon since it worked better than anything else I tried, including the Krylon paint for plastics. I was happy enough with that until I took a ride with a friend who had the best looking interior I'd ever seen in a Skywagon. It didn't take long to decide to do the same. It still turns heads. https://youtu.be/zo06DxOIJy8

Thats a great idea !!! I need to replace th headliner in mine and have been dreading it. Now I'm not dreading it.!!

Airforms baffles? No shroud on #5 or just not installed yet? I like the shield on #6. Most of us have to fab our own.

Get 'er done. You're gonna have some fun.

Wait! I thought you were going to make the fly in season last year. Maybe I missed you. Maybe I was confused on the year.

Robert

Well. since the year and flyin schedule are toast....you are correct.

I plan to hire a team of Santa's elves to finish it.

My 180 has a scoop/duct on the lower cowl/ right side. It is made of fiberglass. I don't see it in the parts photos. The open end points downwind.
1. Is it an add-on?
2. What is it's purpose?

It looks like there was a flange riveted on at some point. Right side? Maybe a negative pressure outlet for the cabin heat box to pull heat out during the warm months? I can’t think of anything else that would use an outlet like that.

It has a hose flange on the inside. There was no hose attached to it. I removed it to strip and paint the cowl.

Eddie, since you are painting the cowl anyway just make a flush patch using flush rivets, a little filler to smooth over any imperfections and paint it. You will like it better than an inoperative scoop.

Started Engine for the first time yesterday. W & B 1 March. Flying by 3 March. Been almost a year and over 1000 hours!
