Posting an IPhone picture into a forum post

How do I directly post an IPhone picture into a forum post without taking it into a computer first?

If you have Tapatalk or the Supercub variant of Tapatalk it's pretty easy, and done through that app.

Better question would be " how to post an IPhone picture right side up " Seems to be a big problem

On the iPhone is easier than on a computer if you have the supercub.org app. Write your text, then click the + sign on the left to add a photo. I think its the second icon to access your photo library, then select a picture. Let it load and you can click the plus sign again to load a second picture, then a third, etc.

I was having trouble emailing photos from my iPhone and iPad. They were right side up on my device, but they were randomly upside down to the recipient. Turns out you need to take landscape photos with the home screen button on the right (volume buttons on top). If you have the home button on the left they will be upside down in emails...

Where do you find Tapatalk or the Supercub variant of Tapatalk? Do you have to have an Iphone or will any smart phone work?

Go to the app store for any phone or tablet and search for supercub.org

the pictures include metadata that says wether it was taken in orientation = landscape, landscape upside down... portrait, portrait upside down... but that is only data that was looked at by apple devices to re-display it correctly... brand x doesn't look at that data...

Actually, I had to add the workaround to the forums to accommodate the way Apple stores photos, no problem with brand x. It was never a problem until they stopped using the old orientation method. Here is some handy info: https://www.geek.com/apple/why-iphon...ix-it-1602306/

NOTE: There are no ads for supporting members in the FREE supercub.org app (if you log in) which is just a branded version of Tapatalk and has all the same features - except it is only for SuperCub.Org.

    sj,
Do I need to have a google account to get this app? I can't seem to find it. The closest I get is for something called Super car. I did find your link but it directs me to log in to a google account.

If you are on an iPhone you do not need a google account, but if you have an android you already have a google account associated with it or you don't have much going on on your phone.

If you are on a flip-phone... well, we have not rolled out the app for that yet...

    Steve,
How come photos loaded with Tapatalk are much higher resolution than photos loaded using a browser? Using the browser, a 5MB file is reduced to less than 80kB, and doesn't look too good.

Double click the picture after you insert it and you will have several size options.

It displays larger, but still low res (80kb).

There is no scaling done on uploads unless your device browser is doing it.

    Hi Steve,
It appears the server is automatically scaling. I've tried two different browsers with identical results. Weirdly, the bigger the photo, the smaller the resultant size, so a 5MB photo scales to 80-100kB, .9MB to about 200kB. Tapatalk does the scaling before uploading. No big deal, I don't know why I'm spending my Saturday fiddling with this.

After the upload, did you double click the picture and choose "original size". The below pictures are thumbnail and after double clicking and selecting the size.

The problem is the resolution/quality. I can use the menu to display the photo any size, but if a pic that was originally 5MB uploads to 80 kb, it looks terrible if shown at a large size. Your large photo is 200kB. The menu says we can upload to 1.9MB, but it doesn't happen - always downsized to a smaller size. 200KB looks all right, but it seems uncontrollable. Again, not a big deal - I just know to do my own downsizing before uploading.

The best workaround Steve is to host it elsewhere an post it as an embedded link.
