2017-12-07 Pearl Harbor Day (never forget), removal of the Pacific Paradise (F/V) and Molokai Is. ...
A typical late Fall frontal system passed yesterday (gale force winds, 20-25' seas). And then ... today is dead calm, weather moves fast here. However, still reporting twenty foot surf on north facing shores but, it's glassy and nice offshore. Decided to cross the Kaiwe Channel and spend a few days fishing.
Leaving Waikiki. Typical Fall morning, south shore is calm and the sun's declination is low. (14) days until winter solstice. That's smog over PHNL.
A super Moon created a super high tide (for Hawaii) and after (2) months the F/V Pacific Paradise was freeded from Waikiki ! I took this photo and wished her good riddance.
Random YouTube video of the M/V Pacific Paradise:
No wind but a 12' north swell made for an easy (but spooky) trip to "Penguin Banks":
Trolled a few Kona Skirts and within (15) minutes caught two beautiful Mahi Mahi !!
Decided to preclude staying on Molokai and returned home with the catch. Summary from Garmin InReach:
Aloha!
